Business Central costs SEK 764.70 per user per month for Essentials, SEK 1,051.40 for Premium and SEK 76.50 for Team Members, paid annually and excluding VAT, according to Microsoft's Swedish pricing page in October 2026. That is the list price for the license. The full cost for a Swedish company has four parts: the licenses per user, the apps that provide the Swedish localization, the partner's work, and what is added when more people need to work in the system. This article goes through them in turn, and then counts the same for Visma Net.
Short answer: what does Business Central cost?
- Essentials SEK 764.70, Premium SEK 1,051.40 and Team Members SEK 76.50 per user per month, paid annually
- bought through a partner
- all full users in a company must be on the same tier
- the apps for Swedish bank formats, OCR, the VAT return and e-invoicing through an operator
- the partner's setup and support
- one more license for every new person, including anyone who only approves
- packages start at SEK 2,744 a month and are based on volume, with unlimited users and approvers
- banking, OCR, VAT and e-invoicing are Visma's own services
- our implementation costs from SEK 75,000 at a fixed price, Click to Cash for e-commerce SEK 95,000
Business Central can do most things, with the right apps and enough licenses. Visma Net does them out of the box, at a price that does not grow with the number of people.
The license types
Microsoft sells Business Central in three main licenses, per named user per month, paid annually.
Finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, projects and CRM. What most companies start with.
Essentials plus manufacturing and service orders. If you choose Premium, all full users in the company must have Premium; an Essentials user cannot sign in to a Premium company.
Read data, approve in workflows and update selected information. This is the license for someone who only approves an invoice.
Add a Device license for shared devices, for example in a store or warehouse, and up to three free External Accountant licenses for an external accounting firm. Licenses are always bought through a Microsoft partner, never directly from Microsoft, and the price is set at purchase. The list price in dollars was raised in autumn 2025, from 70 to 80 dollars for Essentials and from 100 to 110 for Premium, the first increase in over five years. Team Members stayed the same. Swedish prices follow the dollar with Microsoft's own currency adjustment.
The apps for Swedish localization
Business Central is a global system, and Microsoft's Swedish localization covers EU triangular trade, automatic account codes, SIE and a few reports. The rest comes from apps from other vendors, each with its own price and contract.
Swedish payment files and bank reconciliation through a banking app or a contract with a bank operator. Microsoft has announced that no new bank and payment formats are developed in the product.
Created with an app. The standard field exists, but the reference is not calculated.
The XML file to the Swedish Tax Agency comes from an app. A common Swedish VAT app charges SEK 27 per Essentials or Premium user per month.
Peppol is in the product, but requires a contract with an operator such as Pagero, Avalara or Continia.
Each app is a monthly cost, a contract and one more thing that has to be compatible with the two major updates a year. They are not large amounts on their own. It is that they add up, and that they are added per user. AppSource, Microsoft's marketplace, is a strength at the same time: there is an app for most things, and for companies that want to build their solution from apps it is an argument for Business Central. Visma Net also has a marketplace with connectors from partners. The difference is that the Swedish parts do not require an app.
The partner
Business Central is only sold through partners, and it is the partner who sets up the system, the apps and the integrations, and whom you call when something does not work. The partner's price for the implementation varies with the size of the company and what needs to be connected, and is usually hourly or quoted per project. Ask the partner whether the price is fixed, what is included, and what support costs per month after go-live. They are the same questions we think you should ask us; we listed them in How to choose the right Visma Net partner.
How to count: a company with ten in the system
Take a trading company with ten people working in the system: three in finance, two in purchasing and warehouse, two sales reps, and three who only approve invoices. In Business Central that is seven Essentials and three Team Members, plus the apps.
Simplified picture with Microsoft's list prices in October 2026. The apps and the partner's price vary; always check the current price list.
If the company grows to fifteen in the system, Business Central costs five more licenses. Visma Net costs the same, because the license is based on invoices and payments, not people. It is the single biggest difference between the price models, and it shows most in companies where many people need to approve, pack, sell and follow up.
What Visma Net costs
Visma Net is sold in four packages with a fixed monthly fee plus transaction volume, mainly invoices and payments. Packages start at SEK 2,744 a month, all with unlimited users and approvers, one company plus a demo company, and no lock-in period. Banking, e-invoicing, VAT and OCR are Visma's own services out of the box: AutoPay, AutoInvoice and AutoReport. The full price model is in What does Visma Net cost?
And it is not only the license that is easier to count on. The price buys an ERP where orders, purchasing, inventory and finance run by themselves: the sales order becomes a shipment and an invoice, the payment is matched on the OCR reference, purchase proposals are calculated from sales, several companies sit under the same license and the subaccount follows up every line. With Click to Cash, the store integration, Klarna matched order by order and the agents come on top, at a fixed price. This is included:
Shopify, WooCommerce, Centra or Norce. A paid order becomes a sales order in eight seconds, and stock goes back to the store every five minutes.
Klarna and Shopify Payments matched order by order, with the fee and VAT separately. The journal entry waits for your approval.
Own customer with price list, terms and credit limit; the credit hold stops the next order already in the store; OCR and e-invoicing out of the box.
Visma Net as the source of truth, your own warehouse or several, Ongoing WMS or your 3PL in the same flow.
Purchasing, coding and matching that propose. You approve, and everything is logged.
SEK 95,000, or SEK 135,000 if we also build the store. Set before you say yes, and it does not change afterwards.
Our implementation of Visma Net Core costs SEK 75,000 at a fixed price, and Click to Cash, Visma Net set up for e-commerce with the integration to the web shop, inventory and payouts, SEK 95,000. The price is set on the flow map after a free pre-study, before you say yes, and does not change if the project runs long.
What Business Central does well
Price is not the whole picture. Business Central is Microsoft's ERP for the whole world, with Copilot, Power Platform and Microsoft 365 around it, Microsoft's own Shopify connector and a large partner network. Companies that already work in Microsoft's world, have a partner for the apps and few people in the system get a reasonable cost. It is when many people need to get into the system, and when the Swedish parts should work without three vendors, that Visma Net gives you more for the money: more out of the box, and a price that does not grow with the number of people.
Why Straviont
We are a Visma Net partner and set the price before you say yes. The pre-study is free, the flow map is yours to keep, and after the pre-study we build a demo around your workflows in 3 to 5 days, for online retailers with your own store connected to your own Visma Net. The same consultants from the pre-study to after go-live.
