A Visma Net partner, often just called a Visma partner, is a consultancy that Visma has certified to implement, integrate and manage Visma Net for its customers. Visma delivers Visma Net through partners: "When you subscribe to Visma Net, the system is delivered in cooperation with Visma-certified partners," as they put it. The list of partners in Sweden has sixteen companies, from groups with dozens of certified consultants to firms with a handful, and if you are the one choosing, it is hard to see what actually sets them apart. This guide covers what the partner does, what is Visma's and what is the partner's in the price, which questions reveal the most and what to watch out for. Even so, we have tried to write the guide we would have wanted to read.
Short answer
The license price is set by Visma, and it is public. What you choose is the partner, and three things set partners apart: whether they start with your flows or with the modules, whether the implementation price is fixed and set before you say yes or a quote that grows with the hours, and whether the same people are still there after go-live. Ask for a plan for converting your master data, ask who owns the integrations, and ask what the AI is allowed to do without someone at your company approving it. And ask to try the solution yourselves before the price is set.
What does a Visma Net partner do?
Visma describes the division like this: "Visma Software develops the systems, while our partners, with local presence and industry expertise, tie the whole solution together." The partner handles:
- Mapping: how orders, invoices, payments and documents move through your company today.
- Setup: chart of accounts, dimension code, ledgers, banking, distribution and permissions, for your business.
- Conversion: master data, opening balances and open items from the system you are leaving.
- Integrations: web shop, payroll, CRM and warehouse through Visma Net's open API.
- Training and management: making sure the finance team actually works in the system, and that the setup keeps up as the company changes.
The partner "offers the best support agreements, including app support, follow-up and advice", Visma writes. The partner is who you call when something is wrong, for years to come.
This is Visma's, this is the partner's
The most common misunderstanding is that partners compete on the license price. Visma sets that price.
Priced by Visma, publicly: package, transaction volume and number of companies, from SEK 2,744 a month with unlimited users and approvers.
The partner's price for mapping, setup, conversion, training and go-live. This is where it ranges from a fixed price to time and materials, and from a few weeks to six months.
The partner's agreement for support and further development after go-live. Ask what it costs before the project ends.
So compare the implementation and the management. What Visma Net costs in license fees is a separate matter.
Flows first, modules second
Most companies changing systems want the modules in order: ledgers, banking, logistics. But the most common pitfall is setting up the new system around the old system's flows; the result is the same manual work in a newer environment. A good partner first maps how work and money actually move through your company, finds what chafes, and sets up Visma Net around the improved flows. The modules follow by themselves.
- Workshop
- Flows mapped
- Fixed price
- From four weeks, in parallel
- Go-live
Master data is converted first, and you test on your own data while the partner configures. The price is set on the map, before you say yes.
The order also decides the timeline: what makes projects long is the waiting between steps, not the amount of work.
Who carries the risk, and how you try before you decide
A system change has three risks: that it costs more than the quote, that it takes longer than the plan, and that what is delivered is not what you needed. The pricing model decides who carries the first two.
Every hour is invoiced. If it drags on, you pay more. The risk sits with you.
The partner maps the flows, sets the price on the map and carries the risk if it takes longer.
A fixed price for what has been mapped, and a price for what sits outside it before it is ordered. No hours you have not said yes to.
A map that is yours even if you do not go ahead, and conversion included in the price, move risk to the partner without costing you anything. The third risk, the wrong solution, you meet by trying the solution before you decide. A demo shows what the partner chose. Our e-commerce package Click to Cash (in Swedish) is built the other way around: Vardag is our demo store: a Shopify store and a company in Visma Net, set up like a real solution, with the same integration, inventory and accounting you would get. Payment is by test card; everything else is real. Place an order, and eight seconds later it is a sales order. If you contact us we walk you through the demo company, and then you get your own login: you ship the order, see the invoice, the VAT and the dimension code, and pull the report yourselves. Ask every partner for the same: something you do yourselves in the system, before the price is set.
Nine questions to ask before you choose a partner
- How do you start? A good answer is about your flows and a mapping. A worse one is a demo of the modules in the first meeting.
- Is the price fixed, and what happens if the project runs long? A fixed price is a promise about who carries the risk.
- Is conversion of our master data included? Often the largest hidden item in a quote.
- How long does it take, and what do you need from us? An honest answer gives both weeks and conditions.
- Who does the work, and is it the same people after go-live? Or is the project handed to someone else, and management to a third?
- Who owns the integrations? Which systems have they connected to Visma Net, and are the integrations yours once built?
- How do you build for the next company? Every new company should be cheaper to add, not a project from scratch.
- What does the AI do, and who approves? Ask whether anything is posted without a person at your company saying yes.
- Do we get to try the solution before we say yes? Not a demo: something you do yourselves, like placing an order or pulling the report.
Warning signs
- The price comes last. A partner who cannot set a price until the project is running has not understood your flow.
- "Everything is included", without a list. Ask for it: conversion, open items, banking, distribution, training, go-live support.
- No plan for the conversion. Master data makes or breaks the start.
- Management is someone else's. Ask who you call next March.
- Everything can be done. An honest answer also says what Visma Net is not suited for.
Switching Visma Net partner
If you already have Visma Net and are unhappy with your partner, you can switch. Visma says so plainly: "Oavsett anledning styr och väljer alltid du som kund vilken partner du vill ha hjälp av", whatever the reason, you as the customer always decide which partner you want help from. To switch, you contact Visma, and they ask you to consider your current agreements and whether you have specialised configurations of your systems.
The switch itself is simple. What takes time is a new partner taking over a setup someone else built. This is how it works with us:
- We go through what is there. The setup, the integrations and what chafes today, in a free 45-minute workshop. The flow map is yours to keep, whatever you choose.
- You review the agreements. The notice period for the management agreement with your current partner, and who owns the integrations and apps built for you.
- What needs fixing gets a fixed price. The price is set before you say yes, and it does not change if the work takes longer.
- The same consultants afterwards. The people who take over the setup are the ones you call next March.
Four questions to ask your current partner before you switch: who owns the integrations and the code, is the setup documented, how long is the notice period, and what happens to open cases.
Straviont as a Visma Net partner
We are an official Visma Net partner, seven consultants in Stockholm, and we work the way this guide describes. We start with your flows: a free 45-minute workshop where we map how orders, invoices, payments and documents move through your company. The map is yours regardless, and the price is set on it, before you say yes.
Then we set up Visma Net in its standard form for the way your industry works, not the other way around. Visma Net Core is the whole system as a standard setup: SEK 75,000, or SEK 125,000 with logistics, excluding VAT, go-live from four weeks, conversion included. For online retailers there is Click to Cash (in Swedish), our first industry package: the web shop connected to Visma Net with orders, inventory, Klarna and other payment providers, and accounting in one flow, SEK 95,000 at a fixed price, live in one to two months, and a demo store to try in, set up like a real solution. On top we build what should be yours: apps, integrations and agents that code, match and propose, where a person at your company always approves. Payroll we handle in Nmbrs, which is also Visma and where we are also a partner. The people you meet in the workshop build the environment and are the ones you call afterwards. If we are not the right fit, we say so.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Visma Net partner?
A Visma Net partner, or Visma partner, is a consultancy that Visma has certified to implement, integrate and manage Visma Net. Visma Net is always delivered through a partner: the partner does mapping, setup, conversion, integrations, training and support, while the license price is set by Visma.
What does a Visma Net consultant do?
A Visma Net consultant maps how invoices, payments and documents move through the company today, sets up the chart of accounts, subaccounts, ledgers and bank for those flows, converts the master data from the old system, builds integrations, trains the users and manages the environment after go-live.
Do we need a partner to implement Visma Net?
Yes. Visma Net "is delivered in cooperation with Visma-certified partners," according to Visma, and you are the one who chooses which partner delivers it.
Does the Visma Net license cost different amounts with different partners?
No, not according to Visma's price list. Visma publishes the license price: package, transaction volume and number of companies, from SEK 2,744 a month, with unlimited users and approvers. What differs between partners is the price and time for the implementation, and the management agreement afterwards.
What is the difference between a Visma partner and a Visma Net partner?
Visma has several ERP systems, including Visma Net, Visma Business and Business NXT, and also owns the payroll system Nmbrs. A Visma partner can be certified for one or more of them; a Visma Net partner is certified for Visma Net. Ask which product the partner actually implements most often, and ask for examples of that one. We are partners for two of them, Visma Net and Nmbrs.
What is a Visma reseller?
Visma also calls its partners resellers. It is the same thing: a certified consultancy that delivers and manages the system. The license price is Visma's and public; what you compare between resellers is the implementation and the management.
Can we switch Visma Net partner?
Yes. According to Visma, you as the customer always decide which partner you want help from, and to switch you contact Visma. Consider your current agreements and any customisations, such as integrations and apps your current partner has built, and ask who owns them. The new partner takes over the setup, so ask for a review and a fixed price for what needs fixing.
Can we try Visma Net before choosing a partner?
Yes. In our demo store Vardag you place an order and see it become a sales order in Visma Net in eight seconds; if you contact us we walk you through the demo company, and then you get your own login and pull the reports yourselves. Ask every partner you consider for the equivalent.
How do I find a Visma Net partner in Sweden?
Start with Visma's partner directory, which lists all certified Visma Net partners in Sweden. Make a shortlist of two or three, ask the questions above and ask for a conversion plan and a price before you say yes. Straviont is an official Visma Net partner in Stockholm.
