The change takes effect in January 2027. Until then the company is called Visma Software Nordic.

03Visma remains the owner

The Visma group is still behind Scarlet. Customers and partners get the same security as before, in the form of financial strength, technical infrastructure and organizational resources, according to CEO Øyvind Larsen.

04The partner model is unchanged

The rename means no change to the partner model, "rather the opposite", the company writes.

05The cloud solutions get Scarlet as their main name

They are gathered on a shared Business platform and carry the company name as their primary name, with their own feature names or descriptive additions.

06Control, Business and Global

What is Scarlet?

Scarlet is the new name of Visma Software Nordic, the Visma group company that develops ERP, payroll and HR solutions for Nordic businesses. According to the press release, more than 15,000 customers use its solutions for finance, logistics, payroll and reporting. The company has almost 1,000 employees and had revenue of NOK 2.3 billion in 2025, about SEK 2.2 billion.

The rename is the next step after Visma Software's Nordic companies merged in 2025. The plan is to get closer to customers and become more Nordic, with solutions that make use of AI and automation while complying with local laws, data security requirements and Nordic business practice.

"Even though we are getting a new name, we are by no means leaving the nest. Customers and partners get the same security as before, in the form of financial strength, technical infrastructure and organizational resources." Øyvind Larsen, CEO of Visma Software Nordic (our translation)

What happens to Visma Net?

Visma Net is one of Visma Software Nordic's cloud ERP systems. When the company launched AI Connect in June 2026, it covered Business NXT and Visma Net. The press release about Scarlet does not name Visma Net. It says the cloud solutions are gathered on a shared Business platform, where product suites, AI agents and features get a clearer naming structure. The cloud solutions get Scarlet as their primary name, and features are distinguished by their own feature names or descriptive additions.

So what Visma Net will be called has not been announced. We do not guess, and we keep writing Visma Net until Scarlet has announced the new name.

The established, on-premises solutions keep their names, but without the Visma prefix. Visma Business becomes Business, Visma Control becomes Control and Visma Global becomes Global. The press release says nothing about other changes to these solutions.

Who are Visma Net and Scarlet for?

Scarlet describes itself as one of the Nordic region's leading providers of finance and payroll systems for mid-sized and large companies, and writes that Nordic businesses have different needs depending on size and industry. That matches what we see: Visma Net suits companies that have outgrown their accounting software and want finance, inventory and projects to hang together in one system.

Above all, Scarlet suits companies that want the ERP to do more of the work. The goal in the press release is to help Nordic businesses work smarter, with deeper AI integration and more automation. That is also how we use Visma Net: flows are digitalized, what repeats is automated, and people spend their time on the exceptions instead of on keying.

01Companies that want the system to do more of the work

Digitalization, automation and AI in finance: orders, invoices and payments that go through by themselves when they match, and agents that propose the rest. More in What does Scarlet mean for AI and automation?

02E-commerce and wholesale

The web order becomes a sales order, inventory lives in one system and payouts from Klarna are reconciled order by order. More in ERP for e-commerce 2026 and ERP for wholesalers.

03Service and project companies

What does Scarlet mean for AI and automation?

AI and automation are part of the background to the rename. The press release describes a product portfolio renewed at a fast pace, with a more seamless user experience and deeper AI integration, and mentions AI agents among the things that get a clearer naming structure on the shared Business platform. At the same time the company stresses that AI and automation place demands on businesses, and that compliance with local laws and data security is part of the offering.

That direction is visible already. AI Connect, launched in June 2026, makes it possible to connect Visma Net to AI assistants such as Claude and Copilot, and the AI cannot see or do more than the signed-in user is allowed to.

We build agents on top of the Visma Net API for what takes the most time in finance: coding supplier invoices, reconciling payouts and proposing purchases. What matches goes through by itself, and a person at your company says yes to deviations and to the agents' proposals. For companies that want to digitalize and automate finance, the work is the same before and after the rename.

What does the rename mean if you are considering Visma Net?

If you evaluate Visma Net now, you choose the same system as today, with the same owner and the same partner model. The press release describes the name, the structure and the direction, not any changes to how the system works. So what matters most in the choice is the same as before the rename: seeing your own flow work before you decide.
